Cordilura atrata Zetterstedt, 1846

Quite a small black fly with completely black legs. Whole body thinly dusted with the black ground colour showing through especially on the top of the thorax and abdomen. Face and jowls more densely dusted. Front of the frons reddish. Palps black. Halteres yellow. Wing length: ♂ 3.8 - 4.1 - 4.6 mm (7); ♀ 4.3 - 4.6 - 4.8 mm (10).
